Only big bucks rub big trees.  Rubs made on five to six inch diameter trees are made by big bucks .

Bucks do most of their rubbing with their antler bases because of the burrs or ridges at the base grates the bark off. 

The rub on the tree in the background of this photo was made the previous year, likely by the same buck.

The cedar shavings from this rub where still laying at the base of the tree. I found a shed 15 yards behind this tree.
