Monster Buck Still Alive ?
Notice the dates on these deer rub pics: Dec.24/06 and Jan.28/07. The rubs appeared to be fresh when I took the pictures and both rubs are in the same general area. Where both rubs made by the same deer? Hard to say but I do believe at least one monster buck is still alive in my hunting area.
Only big bucks rub big trees. Rubs made on five to six inch diameter trees are made by big bucks .
Bucks do most of their rubbing with their antler bases because of the burrs or ridges at the base grates the bark off. 
Bucks rub their forehead and preorbital sent gland on the tree.
A signpost for all deer to see from a considerable distance.
The cedar shavings from this rub where still laying at the base of the tree. I found a shed 15 yards behind this tree.
